This unit will focus on the local histories of students from Cherokee High School in Mrs. Dehdashty's U.S. History class.  Students will be comparing their own histories to events that were occurring in the United States.  Students will conduct interviews with family members about their own past histories.  These interviews will be conducted by various means such as orally, written, and video taped.  Students will develop the ability to use the interviews to create power point projects and to create web pages if desired.  The goal of this project is to encourage students to learn about and preserve their family histories as well as their cultural heritage.
