Dr. Galbreath, from the Mountain Aquatic Research Center, will visit the classroom in the fall when the trout are ready to spawn. He will explain the spawning process and tell about the trout that are native to the area. He will show and explain how to strip the trout of their eggs and milt. After the students have stripped the trout and fertilized the eggs, they will put the eggs in a special aquarium in the classroom. The students will raise the trout in the classroom until spring and then release them into a local stream.
